The Company
Seso was founded to address labor shortages in agriculture after seeing firsthand how difficult hiring and workforce management can be for farms. The company is building a labor marketplace for the agriculture industry, combining recruiting, H-2A visa support, and workforce management in one software-enabled service.
Its broader goal is to digitize employee records and payment flows across an industry that still relies heavily on manual processes. In 2021, Seso expected to provide more than 1,000 agricultural workers with H-2A visas, making it one of the largest H-2A agents in the country.
The Challenge
Agriculture still runs on a large amount of paper. Employee information is often tracked manually, payroll systems are outdated, and paper checks make payment records harder to manage and reconcile.
Hiring adds another layer of complexity. Job applications, tax forms, contracts, employee manuals, and onboarding documents all need to be completed and tracked across different farms and workers. To digitize both employee records and onboarding, Seso needed a platform that could templatize a wide range of forms and make them easier to complete, manage, and store.

The Solution
Seso implemented Anvil Workflows as part of its software platform to manage hiring and onboarding paperwork for partner farms.
Each farm has its own document requirements, so the team needed a flexible way to configure workflows for different forms and processes. Anvil made it possible to build customized flows that collect information through embedded Webforms, prepare the required hiring documents, and route them into Etch E-sign for signature.
After a workflow is completed, Seso receives a webhook notification and can download both the captured data and the completed signed documents. That created a cleaner system for tracking each farmworker and gave the company a practical way to fully digitize the hiring process.
The Result
Seso saved weeks of engineering time and reduced hundreds of hours of manual work tied to employee record management and onboarding.
The new workflow gave the team a more scalable way to recruit, hire, and staff farms while delivering a smoother digital experience for both employers and workers. It also gave Seso a stronger operational foundation for growing its H-2A and workforce management platform.
