Ganaz is a people management platform built specifically for agriculture and food processing. The platform helps farms and agricultural employers manage HR processes including onboarding, payroll, workforce communication, and H-2A program management. Ganaz serves some of the nation's largest agricultural employers, from family farms to major produce operations like Taylor Farms, HMC Farms, and FirstFruits Farms.
What sets Ganaz apart is its deep understanding of the agricultural industry's unique challenges. Farms often need to onboard hundreds or even thousands of seasonal workers in a matter of days during peak harvest seasons. These workers may speak multiple languages, have varying levels of digital literacy, and require different documentation depending on their employment status and location.
The Problem
Agricultural employers face an intense onboarding challenge that most industries never encounter: hiring massive numbers of workers in extremely compressed timeframes during harvest seasons. A single farm might need to onboard 500-1,000 workers in just one or two weeks as crops ripen and weather windows close.
Before Ganaz, this process was a paperwork nightmare. Farm HR teams would spend 20-30 minutes per worker printing packets, explaining forms in multiple languages, collecting signatures, and manually filing everything. For a harvest crew of 500 workers, that meant over 200 hours of tedious administrative work – time that farms simply didn't have during their busiest season.
But the challenges went deeper than just time. Each farm had its own specific onboarding requirements based on their location, crop type, and workforce composition. Federal I-9 forms, state-specific tax documents, safety waivers, equipment agreements, worker housing forms—every farm needed a different combination of documents. Ganaz couldn't use a one-size-fits-all approach.
The Ganaz product team needed a flexible document solution that could:

- Integrate smoothly into Ganaz's existing onboarding workflow

The Solution
Ganaz built their entire onboarding solution on Anvil Workflows, creating a customizable document and signing experience that adapts to each farm's unique requirements without requiring custom development for every new customer.
For each farm customer, Ganaz configures a custom onboarding workflow using Anvil's template builder. The Ganaz team converts each farm's existing forms—safety acknowledgments, equipment rental agreements, housing waivers—into fillable PDF templates that map to worker data fields in their system. Information collected once automatically populates across all relevant documents, eliminating redundant data entry.
When a farm is ready to onboard workers, Anvil Workflows orchestrates the entire process. As workers complete their initial information in Ganaz's mobile-friendly interface, the workflow automatically generates personalized document packets for each individual and routes them for signature. What used to take 20-30 minutes of printing, explaining, and collecting paperwork now happens in just a few minutes on a tablet or smartphone.
The signing experience is powered by Anvil's Etch E-sign, embedded seamlessly into Ganaz's platform. Workers can sign their onboarding packets on any device—whether that's during an orientation session on tablets provided by the farm or remotely on their own phones. Etch guides them through each required signature field with visual indicators, ensuring complete and compliant documents every time. For farms that onboard workers in person during orientation sessions, Ganaz leverages in-person signing capabilities to facilitate the process.
All completed and signed documents are automatically stored in Ganaz's system, creating an instant digital employee record that farm administrators can access from anywhere. No more filing cabinets, no more lost paperwork, no more scrambling to find forms during compliance audits.
