The Company

Pathpoint is an insurance technology platform that helps agents and brokers efficiently quote and bind coverage for their clients. Operating in the excess and surplus (E&S) insurance market, Pathpoint provides access to multiple insurance carriers through a single platform. This allows agents to quickly compare options and find the right coverage for hard-to-place risks that don't fit standard insurance markets.

The Problem

Insurance agents working with E&S markets face a time-consuming quoting process. When a client needs coverage, agents must gather information about the risk, submit it to multiple carriers, wait for quotes to come back, and then compile those quotes into a format they can present to the client. This process becomes even more complex when policy details change—a different effective date, coverage adjustment, or additional insured can require re-quoting from multiple carriers.

Before automation, creating quote documents for agents was a manual process. Even when Pathpoint's platform could pull quotes from multiple carriers electronically, someone still needed to format those quotes into professional, presentable documents. When clients requested changes to policy terms, generating updated quotes meant recreating documents with the new information.

This manual document creation created delays in what should be a fast-paced sales process. Agents needed to respond quickly to client requests, but waiting for quote documents slowed down the process of moving from quote to bound policy. As Pathpoint expanded their carrier partnerships and agent network, the volume of quote documents requiring generation grew exponentially.

The Solution

Pathpoint implemented Anvil's PDF Generation API to automatically create professional quote documents as soon as pricing is available from carriers.

The system works by integrating quote data from multiple carriers into Pathpoint's platform. When a quote is ready, the relevant data—carrier name, coverage details, premium amount, policy terms, effective dates—is sent to Anvil's PDF Generation API. The API instantly generates a formatted, professional quote document that agents can immediately share with clients.

The real power of the solution appears in requoting scenarios. When a client requests a change to the policy—perhaps they need a different effective date or want to adjust coverage limits—Pathpoint's platform recalculates the quote with the new parameters. Anvil's API then automatically regenerates the quote document with the updated information. What previously required manual document recreation now happens instantly.

This automation is particularly valuable when quoting across multiple carriers. Instead of manually creating separate quote documents for each carrier option, the API generates all documents automatically. Agents receive a complete set of quotes they can immediately present to clients, enabling faster comparison and decision-making.

The PDF Generation API handles the complexity of document formatting, ensuring that quotes are consistently professional and include all necessary disclosures and terms. Pathpoint maintains control over the template design while Anvil handles the technical work of generating PDFs programmatically.

By implementing Anvil's API, Pathpoint transformed quote document creation from a manual bottleneck into an automated process that keeps pace with their platform's speed, enabling agents to respond to clients instantly and move opportunities forward without waiting for paperwork.
