Getting started
Depending on your documents, you may need to add multiple signers. However, not all signers are required to sign every time. For example, your documents include signature fields for a patient and the patients' guardian. If the patient is not a minor, then there is no need to collect the guardians’ signature.
There are a few ways to automatically skip signers:
- No signer information is provided- This could be because the related signer name and email fields are optional, or because they are hidden by logic.
- Signer has no signature field- This could be because the connected signature fields and/or the corresponding documents are hidden by logic.
The first option relies on Webform field and/or page logic to hide/show the name and email fields associated with the signer. The latter option relies on hiding or showing signature fields with logic based on conditions in a Webform.
You may want to use a combination of both these methods or just one, depending on whether or not the signers’ name and email needs to be collected or is otherwise available.
Add logic to signature fields
After you’ve configured your Webform to your liking, you can use Webform fields to conditionally hide or show signature fields.
To add logic to signature fields:
- Navigate to the Workflow editor
- Locate and select a signature field
- Connect a signer if one hasn’t been connected yet
- Click Field logic in the PDF editor panel
- Select Add condition
- Choose a Webform field to base the logic on
- Add a Condition and Value
- Save
Repeat steps 4-7 to add more conditions to the signature field.
Edit or remove logic from signature fields
If previously configured logic needs to be updated or removed, you can do so through the logic editor.
To manage signature field logic:
- Navigate to the Workflow editor
- Locate and select the relevant signature field
- Click Field logic in the PDF editor panel
- Select the three dots next to the relevant condition
- Select Edit to modify the condition
- Select Delete condition to remove the condition and confirm
